Ranga Shankara has been founded by the efforts of the Sanket Trust. Created in 1992, the trust comprises eminent and dedicated theatre personalities who have been writing, directing, acting and participating in theatre for over 25 years.
Girish Karnad, Chairman: A world-renowned playwright and a theatre and film personality, he has given us great plays like Tughlaq, Nagamandala and The Fire and the Rain. Girish Karnad was the recipient of the Jnanapeeth Award in 1999 and the Padmashri award from the President of India. He is currently the director of the Nehru Centre in London, UK.
Arundhati Nag, Managing Trustee: An actress of repute, she has over a thousand performances to her credit. She is one of the few actresses in the country who has acted in Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati and Kannada. Arundathi began her tryst with theatre 30 years ago at IPTA Mumbai and has many films to her credit.
