India, Bangladesh and 2005 Wish list

Indians have always been Gracious hosts, now we have turned into Gracious guests, too. They had no business losing the second one dayer and it was followed up by a ridiculous decision of fielding the first top eleven for the third one dayers. They could have continued with almost the same team except maybe include Dravid and Harbhajan. It was not the right decision to rest the youngsters and the newcomers but get rid of some dead wood, some Seniors for the final match. It's time to get rid of few players who have been around for quite some time yet do not have any kind of common cricketing sense. Alit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra are the three names that come to my mind immediately.

I am not too very happy with the demeanor and the happiness on the face of the Indian Cricket team members after the series. They seem to be happy that they have blown away the Bangladeshis. It says a lot that you need your best team to beat them in the final One dayers.

The only thing that Indians need to be happy is that Sachin is slowly turning around and shown some glimpses of the earlier Sachin. He seems to be on his way back. He will be crucial for the next series.

Wish list - What needs to be done in 2005
1. Make Rahul Dravid as the Captain of both the Test and the One day team
2. Banish Saurav from the Test Team
3. Open with Sachin and Saurav in One dayers.
4. Forget Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra permanently.
5. Let Balaji and Pathan be the opening bowlers in Tests.
6. Permanent spot for Mohammed Kaif in the Test team.
7. Warning message to Laxman and Harbhajan - Perform consistently or Perish
8. Look/Re-look at Iqbal Siddiqui, Sanjay Bangar, SS Paul, Aakash Chopra
9. Keep giving opportunities to MS Dhoni, Dinesh Kaarthick, Joginder Sharma, S. Sriram
