Steve Waugh and his Last appearance

No player has recd. the kind of send off Steve has had. It was great watching. Rare to catch Steve totally go soft. On the verge of tears many times over. Great words by all the Indians too. Anybody watching (and quite a few on the ground would have been on tears) would have felt the emotions. One had to watch the whole send-off ceremony to understand the difference Steve has made to the game of Cricket.

It was great but thank God, Sachin did'nt drop Steve's catch. For few moments it looked as if Indians
would allow Steve to complete his century. That old bastard might have gone onto score a century and complete a fairytale finish to his career. But I am sure Steve would be the first player to acknowledge that Sachin did the right thing. He has never given and inch and am sure would'nt have expected one.

Indians have come of age, though.By far the best away series I have seen since I have been watching
cricket. The turning point was when India were three down,Gabba's bounce and pace, First Test of Steve last series and Ganguly counter attacking in return. His most effective century which turned around
everything from then.

Although he was highest scorer in both the innings in Port of Spain, when we had won in West Indies and he has had couple of good knocks against the English fast bowlers, he was still presumed to be a suspect against hostile bowling. Very few, now would question his inclusion in the team. In fact I believe this is start of some glorious few series for India under Ganguly. Happy Days are here again.
