Dedicated Student

Over the years there have been many adjectives and words used to describe Rahul Dravid, but this one - Dedicated Student, is the one which I like the most. Dravid truly deserves the inaugural ICC awards and all other accolades that he's been getting. Absolutely no doubt on the fact, that currently he is the backbone of the Indian batting. Dravid is in his elements and when he is in such a form, he by far has achieved the most for the team than the celebrated trio of Sachin, Saurav and Laxman. I had written sometime ago, that when we take stock of the the careers of these four, five years down the line, Dravid's contribution would stand out , glaringly superior than the rest. The 'Great Dravid' can then be truly used.

Also was not surprised to see Irfan Pathan getting an award. That and Flintoff's award made it a sweep by India and England, re-affirming the fact that these are two teams who have done tremendously well in the last year and are ready to challenge the Aussies for the numero uno position.

I believe, England has an edge over India, when it comes to being the 'Challengers' to Aussies, because of Indians recent inexplicable loss of form and intensity.
