Quickie

Wine Shop

Seen are the Australian fans in a Chennai Wine shop during the ongoing Australian Series in India. That's 'assimilation and taking part in the local culture', at it's best. Yes yes, I know, In Rome, be a Roman .....

If you ever have had a 'Quickie' in a Wine Shop, this photo should bring a smile on your face.

There are plenty of Wine Shops like this across India, where people buy bottle of a liquor over the counter, usually called a 'Quarter', that's about 250 ml, pay cash, usually there's an alley that takes you inside, just few chairs and tables littered around, poster's of half naked woman staring down, mostly the place is very dirty and smelly.

Pour the drink in those ubiquitous tea glasses, down it as quickly as possible and get out of the place. All kinds of people frequent this place, no class, no creed, no barriers, just people who want a 'Quickie'.
