Follow up to the previous story

Hmm so no one died this time around, not sure how much of this is made up the newspaper in question...

Early Thursday morning, Kuldeep Singh covered every inch of Amloh on foot, enquiring about the well-being of his people along the way.

As the sarpanch of this Haryana village, nestled some 20km from Yamunanagar district, Singh said Amloh has to break the ''17-day death curse''. ''Everybody's praying hard... nobody must die today,'' said the sarpanch, apparently referring to the mysterious deaths happening in the village every 17th day since May 13. With some hours for sundown, the villagers kept their fingers crossed and prayer beads moving. And it seemed their prayers had been answered: No one died in Amloh on Thursday, the 17th day after the last death on July 20. On Wednesday, TOI reported how fear had gripped Amloh, which has seen one death every 17 days during the past four months, leading the people to believe that the village was cursed.
